The Origins of the Name
On 3rd August 1953, the Steinborn-Busse name was formally created with the birth of Klaus-Peter, father of Kayne Steinborn-Busse, owner of SB Group. His father, Kunibert Busse, sought to honour both his mother’s and father’s names, creating a unified identity that would endure for generations.
The Steinborn-Busse name embodies the values of loyalty, discipline, and legacy, shaping not only the family’s journey but also the ethos that defines SB Group today.
Pomerania 1923
Kunibert Gustav Busse was born on 7th May 1923 in Göring, Pomerania, Germany (now Poland). His early years were shaped by change and resilience, instilling a deep sense of dedication and perseverance that would later define the family’s work ethic.
Following World War II, Kunibert’s journey took him to the United Kingdom, where he established himself through hard work, craftsmanship, and a keen understanding of opportunity. His focus on building something lasting became a principle that was passed down through generations.
Britain 1962
In 1962, Kunibert settled in Virginia Water, taking up work at Savill Gardens. His commitment to quality, precision, and continuous improvement became the cornerstone of the family’s values, guiding future generations in their approach to business and development.
